At Community Trauma UK, we believe in the power of research to create real-world change especially when it centers the voices and experiences of communities. That’s why we’re proud to offer the Community Minded Research Award, recognising outstanding doctoral and PhD research that reflects our commitment to community-centered healing.
About the Award
The Community Minded Research Award celebrates doctoral research that explores trauma within Black communities. With a focus on psychological therapies, we welcome research that supports recovery, healing, and resilience through both individual, community and systemic practices.
Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from doctoral researchers who:
- Identify as Black.
- Are currently undertaking PhD or doctorate research in the UK.
- Are conducting research that explores trauma and healing within Black communities that is grounded in the principles of decolonisation and social justice.
What the Award Includes
- A £250 cash prize.
- A feature spotlight on the Community Trauma UK platform and beyond.
- An opportunity to present your research at our conference
